Carat, Clarity, Color & Cut
The
diamond is perhaps considered the most valuable gemstone on earth as it is a form of
pure carbon. It has a history going back thousands of years.
Carat
A Carat
weight is the mass of the diamond. One carat weighs 200 miligrams. The price
of the diamond depends on the weight of the diamond. The larger the diamond is, the more expensive it is.
· The
"point" unit, 0.01 carat (2 mg) is used for diamonds less than 1 carat in
weight. A Point 75 (0.75) carat is much cheaper than a 1 carat
diamond.
Clarity
The
clarity is determined by 'clarity", depending on the number, size, color, and visibility of imperfections in the diamond. The higher the
clarity score is, the more expensive the diamond is. Diamonds are graded on a scale ranging from flawless to imperfect.

Diamonds

polished from a rough stone to its final appearance. The Cut describes the angles to which a diamond is
cut.
